Bandarban


Bandarban, the district headquarters of the Bandarban Hill District, is situated ninety-two km. from Chittagong. Bandarban is hometown of the Bhomang chief who is the head of the Mogh tribe. The simple and hospitable Moghs are of Myanmar origin and Buddhists by religion, jovial and carefree by nature. Bandarban is also the home of the Murangs who are famous for their music and dances. Several other tribes of great interest live in the remote areas of the district. The highest peak of Bangladesh-Tahjin dong (4632 ft)-is located in the Bandarban district.
It's located at Pulpara, only 4 kilometer away from Balaghata town and 10 kilometer from Bandarban district. This Temple is the largest Theravada Temple with the second largest Buddha statue in Bangladesh.
Chimbuk mountain: The Chimbuk is the third highest mountain in Bangladesh. It's one of the most familiar tourism place in Bandarban. Chimbuk mountain is just 26 kilometer away from Bandarban hill city. Chimbuk hill is about 2500 feet high above sea level Keokradong mountain: Keokradong is the second highest mountain of Bangladesh. Keokradong is about 4,000 ft (1,230 meters) high from the sea level. It is situated only 30 kilometer away from the Ruma upazilla. This hills area is full of natural beauty. travelers and nature lovers can see many middle and big mountains and hills. Keokradong is covered with dense forests, birds and animals. Meghla Tourist Spot: Meghla Tourism Complex is one of the most attractive tourist spots for the travelers and tourists coming from outsite of Bangladesh and domestic.
Nafakhum waterfall: Nafakhum is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Bangladesh and an romancing place to travel. Nafakhum is situated on the wild hilly Sangu River at a area called Remakri of Thanchi upazilla in Bandarban. Nilgiri mountain: Nilgiri is one of the tallest peaks and very beautiful tourist spots in Bangladesh. Nilgiri mountain is about 3600 feet high and situated only 46 km from Bandarban.  Rijuk Waterfall: Rijuk waterfall is located at Ruma upazilla of Bandarban. The water of Rijuk waterfall continuously falls into the river Sangu from about 150 mitres high hill with beautiful natural sound throughout the year and this water is shiny like pearl particles in the space creating a unique beauty of nature. Sangu River: It's the complete suite of the natural beauty of Bandarban. Sangu river enters the Bandarban district from the east and flows west across the Bandarban and finally falls into the bay of Bengal sea and about 270 k.m long. Sangu river is flowing through the hills for thousands of years.
Tajingdong: Tajingdong, also known as “Bijoy mountain” is the highest mountain of Bangladesh. Tajingdong is about 4400 feet (1310 meters) high from the sea level. Tajingdong is situated in Ruma upazilla. According to local tribal language “Tajing” means “Great” & “Dong” means “Hill” so that means “Great hill.

The Buddha Dhatu Jadi also known as the Bandarban Golden Temple is located close to Balaghata town, in Bandarban City, in Bangladesh. Dhatu means material remains of a holy person and in this temple the relics belong to Buddha. It is the largest Theravada Buddhist Temple with the second largest Buddha statue in Bangladesh. The Bandaban Golden Temple belongs to the Theravada Buddhism order, which is practiced by the Marma tribal people, a dominant ethnic group of Bandarban. It was built in 2000 in Arakanese architecture, an adoption of South East Asia style.
Bandarban Ninetytwo kilometer from Chittagong by metalled road, Bandarban is the district headquarters of the Bandarban Hill District.
